HEROES 5K RUN/WALK TEAMS: NEW THIS YEAR!!!
Why form a Team? Run 4 a cause!
- Train together and encourage each other. A team provides great motivation to reach a personal goal and you can enjoy time with others.
- Team participation creates great community visibility for a company or organization. Show your company/organization’s spirit at the race!
- Work together to raise donations for a worthy cause. Top fundraising team earns the Superhero Award!
Who can create teams? Anyone! We invite companies, organizations, neighbors, and clubs to gather their colleagues, family and friends. A team should have at least four people; there is no limit to the team size. Teams are not limited by age range or gender.
How do I sign up as part of a team? Once a team has been established, pick a team name. Each team member can register for the race on his/her own online or by paper form; just join your “team name” on your registration.
What does it cost? There are no additional fees for registering as a team. Each individual is responsible for his/her registration fee.
Can all of our packets be picked up at the same time? Unfortunately, we are not able to bundle packets by team, but if you have the first and last names of each person on your team, then one person may pick up for the entire group.
Can we make our own shirts? We highly encourage you to dress alike or wear a fun accessory so your team members are recognizable. The Team Spirit Award will be given to the team with the best shirts/costumes.
What are the team awards? 5K Walk team awards will be given to the team with the most participants. 5K run awards will be given to the team with the most participants as well as the team with the fastest collective time based on the top 3 runners on each team. The TEAM SPIRIT Award will be given to the team with the best costumes or shirts. The SUPERHERO Award will be given to the team who raises the most donations.
How can my team raise funds for the CASA Cause? Your teammates can collect donations to vie for the SUPERHERO Award. Donations can be collected using the downloadable form or online through firstgiving. You can create your own page at www.firstgiving.com/nhcasa/heroes Donations must be submitted by July 12. There are no fundraising minimums. All donations go to abused and neglected children through the advocacy efforts of CASA volunteers.
The 5K and the Half Marathon will be chip timed by Race Place Chip Timing, giving immediate and accurate results to ALL participants.
If you prefer to mail in your registration fee and registration form, please visit www.nhcasa.org (to download) or call (605) 722-4558 for more information.
Last year, we had a record turnout to support children in the Northern Hills. This event is an annual fundraiser, which benefits the abused and neglected children through the Northern Hills Area CASA Program. Your help is needed again this year!
